Cute with a Playful Spirit: The Team that Won the Sweets Koshien Collaborates with Fujiya
A team of high school students that recently won the Sweets Koshien competition has collaborated with Fujiya to create a new roll cake available at Fujiya stores until March 31.
In a delightful collaboration, the winning team from last year's Sweets Koshien competition, comprising students from the Cooking and Confectionery School in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, has teamed up with the major confectionery company Fujiya to develop a new dessert. The collaboration features a roll cake named 'Together! Smile Switchi! Berry Fromage Roll,' which is made with raspberry-flavored sponge cake filled with a cream cheese and raspberry sauce blend. This delectable treat is being sold at Fujiya's Western confectionery stores across Japan until March 31.
The team, known as 'Eclair Fiere,' consists of three high school students, Sena Fukui (18), Sena Koizumi (18), and Yurina Segawa (17). Their new roll cake incorporates design elements from their prize-winning dessert presented at the Sweets Koshien competition last September, maintaining continuity in flavor and aesthetics. They aimed to showcase their unique style and signature presentation through this product.
Moreover, the roll cake features a macaron adorned with a print of 'Peko-chan,' a character synonymous with Fujiya, wearing a blue scarf similar to that worn by the team. This initiative highlights the intersection of youth creativity and established confectionery traditions, offering a fresh take on sweets that resonate with both the competitors' vision and Fujiya's reputation for quality and innovation in the confectionery industry.
