Turku has gained the most reputation among the largest cities, Tampere remains the most attractive

A recent survey shows that Tampere continues to be the most attractive city in Finland, while Turku notably increased its reputation and ranking, becoming the third most recognized city.

According to a survey conducted by Reputation and Trust Analytics, Tampere retains its title as the most attractive city in Finland. The survey, which is conducted annually, measures the regional reputation and attractiveness of the country's largest cities, with results indicating that Tampere leads in several key metrics of livability and popularity. This year's findings are based on responses from around 2,700 residents aged 15 to 65 living in mainland Finland.

However, this year marks a significant leap for Turku, which has improved its reputation across all assessed categories, moving up to the third position overall. It showed considerable growth in areas related to tourism, local culture, and amenities, suggesting a revitalization effort that may be paying off for the city. Kuopio, another city in Finland, has also seen an increase in its overall ranking, closely trailing behind Tampere, indicating a competitive environment for urban reputation.

The survey results, gathered in January, highlight the shifting dynamics in urban attractiveness in Finland. The climb of Turku reflects broader trends in urban development and how perceptions of cities can change over time. These findings may have implications for local governance and city planning, as municipalities strive to enhance their reputation and attract more residents and visitors, thereby impacting economic growth and community engagement.
