Tampere Remains Finland's Most Attractive City - Kuopio Climbing Behind
Tampere has been declared Finland's most attractive city for 2023, though Kuopio is rapidly closing the gap.
According to the results of the Reputation and Trust Analytics' 2026 study, Tampere has retained its title as Finland's most attractive city. This marks the final year of a consistent streak since 2020, when the research began. The study measures the attractiveness of cities based on a variety of factors including economic vitality, community, safety, location, services, and cost structure.
However, the 2023 findings indicate that Kuopio is gaining on Tampere, with only a small margin separating their scores. Tampere scored 3.81, while Kuopio was close behind at 3.76. Susanna Saarenpää, an expert from Reputation and Trust Analytics, mentioned that the gap between the reputations of the two cities has been narrowing, suggesting a competitive landscape for city attractiveness in Finland.
The cities are evaluated through a comprehensive model that takes into account six different aspects contributing to their overall reputation. This ongoing evaluation reflects not just the changing dynamics within Finnish urban environments but also the increasing emphasis on the quality of life and economic factors as determinants of a city's appeal.
