Residents of Kėdainiai County have been astonished by the flooding caused by spring temperatures, which submerged road workers' machinery near the Barkūniškis bridge leading to Ažytėnai. The machinery, used for pile driving, was reportedly nearly a third submerged in the overflowed river water, sparking outrage among locals. Many believe it was irresponsible to leave such equipment in a low-lying area, especially after warnings of the impending flood and rising water levels were issued in advance.
