Road workers have important news: warning about a danger that is forming faster than usual
The company 'Kelių priežiūra' in Lithuania is addressing urgent road repairs due to unusual traffic incidents and has implemented temporary restrictions for safety.
The Lithuanian road maintenance company, 'Kelių priežiūra,' has announced that intensive work is being carried out on state highways with heavy traffic. Urgent repairs are underway on the A1 road near Ariogala, specifically between the 130-135 km and from the 153 km sections, where pothole repairs are being conducted with the help of recyclers. Given the severity of the situation, there are temporary traffic restrictions in place, including the closure of one lane and a speed limit of 90 km/h, alongside warning signs alerting drivers to these changes.
Due to the scale of the issues, local teams are overwhelmed and additional crews from distant units are being deployed to assist with the repairs. Work is being conducted around the clock to address the situation as quickly as possible. The maintenance teams have acknowledged the insufficiency of local resources to manage the extent of the damage effectively, which has necessitated this response and reallocation of personnel to ensure safety on the roads.
While temporary solutions such as cold asphalt are being used to improve driving conditions, these measures are not a long-term fix. 'Kelių priežiūra' plans to increase its operational capacity by launching an asphalt production facility next week to provide hot asphalt for more durable pavement solutions. Additionally, there is an increase in patrolling to ensure compliance with the temporary restrictions and enhance overall road safety in the affected areas.
