Sallah: Police restrict tricycle movement in Borno, urge residents to pray near homes
The Borno State Police Command has restricted tricycle movement to ensure safety during the Sallah celebrations and encouraged residents to pray close to their homes.
In a bid to secure a peaceful Sallah celebration, the Borno State Police Command has implemented restrictions on tricycle movement throughout the state from 6 am to 12 pm on Friday. This initiative aims to mitigate potential risks during the holiday festivities. The police have also advised community members to observe their prayers in proximity to their homes, fostering safety while maintaining the spirit of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
To bolster security measures, the command has deployed operatives from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit at various strategic locations. These operatives will be present at major gathering points to conduct thorough screenings of individuals and packages entering selected venues. The proactive measures taken by the police underline their commitment to ensuring that not only the Sallah celebrations are enjoyable, but also secure for all residents of Borno State.
In a statement, ASP Nahum Daso, the Police Public Relations Officer, conveyed the commendations and best wishes of the Borno State Police Command to the Muslim community on Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan. The comprehensive security architecture established aims to protect lives and property, reflecting the police's constitutional duty while fostering a sense of community safety during this significant religious event.
