Be vigilant in Ramadan’s final days, police tells Borno residents

The Borno State Police Command has advised residents to stay alert and cautious during the last ten days of Ramadan due to increased public activities.

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches its last ten days, the Borno State Police Command in Nigeria has issued a statement urging local residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious. This period is marked by heightened activities like Tafsir, Iftar, and night prayers, which lead to an increase in public gatherings and movements. The police emphasize the need for residents to be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this sacred time.

ASP Nahum Daso, the spokesperson for the Police Command, highlighted the importance of community cooperation in maintaining security. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities, individuals, or objects to the police, either at local stations or via emergency contact lines. The police command recognizes the significance of this spiritual period but emphasizes that vigilance is crucial in preventing potential security breaches.

Additionally, parents are advised against leaving their children unattended in crowded places such as places of worship and other public gatherings. The police have ramped up their patrols in response to Commissioner of Police CP Naziru Abdulmajid's directives, aiming to assure the safety of the community during these final days of Ramadan, which are often seen as particularly significant for Muslim faithful.
