In a notable case in Lithuania, residents of the Panevėžys District were convicted for attempting to import approximately one kilogram of cannabis and other psychoactive substances from the USA through the Telegram platform. The drugs were disguised as children's toys and were sent to an unsuspecting recipient, whose details were reportedly found in a vehicle by a defendant working as a rideshare driver. This highlights the creative methods some individuals employ to smuggle illicit substances across borders.

During their investigation, authorities discovered a wide array of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the shipment. About 947 grams of cannabis with potent THC levels of up to 23.3% were found, alongside electronic cigarettes filled with cannabis oil and gummy candies containing the psychoactive compound psilocybin. The shipment's complexity, including specialized packaging and the assortment of drugs, raises concerns about the sophistication of drug trafficking operations involving the use of seemingly innocent products to evade law enforcement.

Expert attention was particularly directed towards the gummy candies infused with psilocybin, which is known for its strong hallucinogenic effects.
