Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. has announced the delivery of its fourth Kamsarmax vessel from a series of eight being built in China.

Angelakos (Hellas) S.A. has taken delivery of its fourth Kamsarmax vessel, named "Africa Graeca II", from a series of eight being constructed at the Dalian Cosco KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS) shipyard in Dalian, China. This vessel, which flies the Cypriot flag, was officially delivered on March 11, 2026, highlighting the company's expansion in the maritime sector under the leadership of shipowner Evangelos Angelakos.

During the naming ceremony, the company’s CEO, Captain Stefanos Angelakos, emphasized the pivotal role of the workforce, stating that the true strength of the company lies in ensuring the long-term prosperity of its personnel, both at sea and on land. He also underscored the importance of passing maritime knowledge from captain to captain and from generation to generation, which reflects a commitment to maintaining a skilled workforce in a competitive industry.

The ship was named by Ms. Irini Viltanioti, an Associate Professor of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Crete, who spoke about the historical exchanges between Greece and Africa, shedding light on the development of early "global" maritime connections. This aspect not only honors the vessel's name but also reinforces the cultural ties between the two regions as the shipping industry continues to grow and evolve.
