Pantheon Tankers of Anna Angelikoussi is building two more tankers
Pantheon Tankers, led by Anna Angelikoussi, has expanded its shipbuilding program by ordering two Suezmax tankers from COSCO's shipyards in China.
Pantheon Tankers, a prominent entity in the shipping industry, is expanding its fleet with the order of two Suezmax tankers holding a capacity of 157,000 tons. This decision comes after recent orders for two LNG carriers manufactured in South Korea, confirming the company's commitment to enhance its operational capabilities. In addition, the group has also recently ordered 11 feeder containerships for Alpha Bulkers, showcasing a broader strategy in diversifying its fleet to meet varying market demands.
Currently, the company boasts a fleet of 42 tankers actively operating at sea while also having six more under construction. This continuous expansion highlights the robust growth strategy of Pantheon Tankers in the competitive shipping industry. Additionally, the recent development indicates the increasing trend towards dual-fuel vessels, as both newly ordered tankers will be equipped with such technology, which aligns with the evolving regulations and market expectations regarding environmental sustainability in maritime operations.
The recent surge in orders for advanced LNG carriers indicates a strategic pivot towards liquefied natural gas transportation, thereby reinforcing the future-proofing of the companyβs fleet. This multi-faceted approach not only strengthens Pantheon Tankers' market position but also aligns with the industry's growing focus on sustainable practices, reflecting the broader shifts in the global shipping landscape.
