The event will feature a 'show cooking' session that allows the public to witness the live preparation of this iconic dish and participate in a tasting. It is organized by the local municipality and will occur on March 29, starting at 10:00 AM, at Plaza Rocafuerte, commonly known as San Francisco, in the city's downtown area.

The initiative emerged after a discussion held at the School of Chefs, where the General Directorate of Tourism and Special Events, city council members, students, and culinary experts gathered to analyze the historical and cultural value of fanesca. Participants emphasized fanesca's status as one of Ecuador's most representative dishes. The municipality highlighted its long-standing efforts to form alliances with private enterprises and the academic sector to promote culinary art and heritage.
