Suspect of raping three women arrested after victims' stolen cell phones were tracked in Bahia

A man was arrested in EunΓ‘polis, located in the extreme south of Bahia, Brazil, on March 17, after being identified as a suspect in a series of sexual assaults against three women in less than a fortnight. The Civil Police tracked the stolen mobile phones of two victims to his home, leading to his apprehension. Notably, the suspect attempted to flee but was pursued and caught by the authorities.
The initial incident of rape took place on March 4, at around 9:40 PM, when the victim was arriving home. Although she reported the crime, she was unable to identify her attacker at that time. The subsequent incidents involved the suspect breaking into a family home, where he assaulted both a mother and her daughter, highlighting the alarming pattern of violence against women in the region.
