Arrested for kidnapping women in a shopping mall in Bahia is a partner of an inmate who would have orchestrated the crime in prison

A woman has been arrested in Bahia for her involvement in the kidnapping of three women from a shopping mall, allegedly orchestrated by her partner, an inmate.

A woman has been arrested in Salvador, Bahia, for her role in the kidnapping of three women, including a mother and her daughters, from the parking lot of Salvador Shopping. The arrest is linked to her partner, who is incarcerated and is believed to have masterminded the crime from within the prison, using a mobile phone to communicate with her and plan the abduction.

According to the Civil Police, the victims were approached by assailants in the shopping center's parking area and forced into their family vehicle. Under threat, they were taken to the outskirts of Salvador where they were coerced into making bank transfers. Fortunately, the victims were rescued by the Police Civil on Monday (16) and reported to be safe.

The situation came to light when a family member grew concerned over the delay of one victim and alerted law enforcement. The police were able to track the family's car using its GPS, leading them to the vehicle. However, the victims were not found at that location at first, indicating that the kidnappers had moved them. This incident underscores the vulnerabilities present even in public spaces and raises questions about prison communications and criminal coordination.
