Suspect of sharing false intimate images of women on the internet arrested in Bahia

A man suspected of harassment and sharing false intimate images of women was arrested in Feira de Santana, Bahia during a police operation.

A man has been arrested in Feira de Santana, the second largest city in Bahia, Brazil, on allegations of harassment, psychological violence against women, defamation, and slander. The arrest took place on Tuesday, October 10, during 'Operation Hidden Face' launched by the Civil Police. Investigators claim that the suspect was disseminating offensive content and fake intimate images of two women through pornographic websites, intending to expose and humiliate them.

As part of the operation, law enforcement seized several electronic devices including cell phones, laptops, a tablet, a computer, USB drives, and memory cards. Additionally, officers discovered two replicas of firearms, two knives, a .32 caliber firearm, and ammunition. The suspect's possession of the firearm and ammunition was deemed illegal, which contributed to his immediate arrest at the scene.

The seized electronic devices will undergo forensic examination to extract data and ascertain whether there are any other victims involved. This incident highlights the ongoing issues of digital harassment and cyber violence against women, underlining the importance of law enforcement efforts in addressing and curbing such harmful behavior in Brazilian society.
