The 17th edition of the Sustainability Drive-Thru is set to commence on Thursday, September 19, and will continue through Saturday, September 21, in Campo Grande, Brazil. Taking place at the Altos da Avenida Afonso Pena, next to the Bioparque Pantanal, the event aims to promote environmental awareness and facilitate the proper disposal of recyclable waste. It will operate from 9 AM to 6 PM, encouraging residents to participate in a sustainable initiative that makes recycling easier.
One of the key features of the event is its drive-thru format, which allows individuals to drop off their recyclable materials directly from their vehicles, enhancing convenience and participation among the local community. Accepted materials include paper, plastic, glass, cooking oil, PET bottles, electronic waste, expired medications, batteries, and pet items. This initiative not only makes recycling more accessible but also educates the public on the importance of environmental stewardship by creating a seamless experience for waste disposal.
In addition to the collection of materials, the Sustainability Drive-Thru will host various educational activities and cultural programs, along with workshops focused on basic sanitation and guided tours for students. These components aim to deepen understanding and engagement with sustainability practices, ultimately fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within the community.
