Operation by Federal Police against drug trafficking, arms sales, and violent crimes targets Nova Odessa, Limeira, and Santa Bárbara
A joint operation by the Federal Police and Military Police targeting drug trafficking and illegal arms sales led to multiple search and arrest warrants in Brazil's Piracicaba region.
On Tuesday morning, a coordinated operation by Brazil's Federal Police (PF) and Military Police (PM) aimed to dismantle a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking and illegal arms sales. The operation, named 'Dry Fall,' resulted in the execution of at least six search and seizure warrants and one temporary arrest warrant across three cities in the Piracicaba region of São Paulo state. The action also extended to other municipalities within São Paulo and to the states of Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Rio de Janeiro.
In the Piracicaba area alone, the law enforcement teams executed two search and seizure warrants in Limeira, two in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, and additionally two search warrants along with a temporary arrest warrant in Nova Odessa. According to the Federal Police, the ongoing investigations revealed that the targeted criminal group has strong ties to a national criminal faction, which has been implicated in the movement of large quantities of illegal drugs and firearms.
This operation is significant not only because of its immediate impact on crime in these particular cities but also due to its broader implications for public safety and law enforcement's ability to combat organized crime across multiple Brazilian states. The collaborative efforts between different police forces underscore the strategic approach required to tackle complex criminal networks that operate across regions and are involved in serious criminal activities such as drug trafficking and violent crimes.
