Federal Police executes orders against group investigated for drug trafficking

A federal operation was launched in Brazil against a group suspected of drug trafficking, following the identification of a large marijuana cultivation area in Paraíba.

On October 3rd, the Federal Police of Brazil initiated a significant operation targeting a group involved in drug trafficking. This operation was conducted in Pernambuco and São Paulo and stemmed from earlier findings by the Military Police of Paraíba, who uncovered a large area dedicated to the cultivation of marijuana in the rural zone of Santa Teresinha. This extensive operation included executing various judicial search and seizure warrants and aiming to arrest individuals associated with this criminal group.

Follow-up investigations revealed that the area in Paraíba included advanced setups for organized criminal activity, featuring irrigation systems, supporting structures, and materials used for both the production and packaging of the illegal substance. The operation aimed not only to eradicate this illegal plantation but also to dismantle the broader criminal organization that operates in and across these regions.

Significant searches were carried out in various municipalities within Pernambuco, including Carnaubeira da Penha, Serra Talhada, and Jaboatão dos Guararapes, and additional actions were taken in São Paulo. This crackdown emphasizes the ongoing efforts by Brazilian law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, highlighting the interconnected nature of these operations across different provinces in Brazil.
