The Sokoto State Police Command has implemented enhanced security measures in preparation for Eid-el-Fitr celebrations to ensure peace and safety for residents.
As Eid-el-Fitr approaches, the Sokoto State Police Command has announced a comprehensive security strategy aimed at guaranteeing a peaceful celebration for all residents in the state. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, communicated this plan in a statement, emphasizing the obligation of the police to ensure lawfulness during the festivities. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, expressed warm wishes to the Muslim community, encouraging all to celebrate responsibly and within legal frameworks.
To strengthen security measures, the Commissioner directed that patrols be intensified and intelligence-led operations be increased across the state. This strategic deployment of personnel has been planned to ensure maximum visibility and presence in critical areas during the celebrations. The measures aim to prevent any untoward incidents and reassure the public of their safety while participating in the Eid festivities.
In line with this initiative, the Police Command is also encouraging the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities. These measures reflect an ongoing commitment to maintaining peace and security in Sokoto, especially during significant cultural and religious events, which could attract large gatherings and require heightened security protocols.
