The Cat That Laughs, La Casserole and three other restaurants in SP receive the cultural value seal
Five São Paulo restaurants, including La Casserole and O Gato que Ri, have recently been awarded the Cultural Value Seal by the city for their significant cultural contributions.
Recently, five restaurants in São Paulo, namely La Casserole, O Gato que Ri, Bar Estadão, Leiteria Ita, and Café Floresta, received the Cultural Value Seal from the Municipal Council of Preservation of Historical, Cultural, and Environmental Heritage of the City of São Paulo (Conpresp). This honor is given to establishments that play a significant cultural role in the city through their history, traditions, or social relevance. The award is accompanied by an informative plaque, signifying the restaurant's importance in the local cultural landscape.
In total, these five new recipients add to a prestigious list of 92 cultural locations in São Paulo, which include renowned establishments like Fasano, Riviera Bar, and Ponto Chic, as well as various galleries, bookstores, optical shops, and stationery stores. The seal highlights the diversity and richness of São Paulo's cultural scene, appreciating not just dining experiences but also the stories and community ties that these establishments foster.
Every five years, Conpresp conducts evaluations to ensure that the awarded establishments continue to uphold the values that justified their recognition. The application of this cultural value seal aims to promote and preserve the city's cultural heritage, ensuring that traditional and historical establishments contribute to São Paulo's unique identity and continue to attract both locals and tourists alike.
