Another Moomin World Amusement Park Coming to Finland

A new Moomin World amusement park is set to open in the Rovaniemi region of Finland, expanding the beloved theme park's reach.

A new Moomin World amusement park is being developed in Rovaniemi, located in northern Finland. The project, reported by Yle, comes from the same company that oversees the original Moomin World in Naantali, which has been a favorite destination since its opening in 1993. Tomi Lohikoski, the CEO of the company, emphasized that Rovaniemi's strong tourism credentials and international reputation made it an appealing location for the new park.

While the planned amusement park in Rovaniemi will be smaller than the one in Naantali, it aims to promote domestic tourism during the summer season, capitalizing on Finland's appeal as a tourist destination. The original Moomin World is themed around the beloved characters created by Finnish author and artist Tove Jansson, whose works have inspired films and are well-known in Finland and abroad, including in Estonia.

Tove Jansson's Moomin stories promote values of respect, care, and understanding, making the theme park a popular attraction not just for children but for families. The expansion of the Moomin brand with a new location in Rovaniemi is expected to further enhance its popularity and cultural significance in the region and beyond.
