Finland's Second Moomin World Coming to Rovaniemi โ€“ Land Reserved Near Santa Claus

A Moomin-themed amusement park is set to be developed in Rovaniemi, Finland, adjacent to Santa Claus Village.

A Moomin-themed attraction is planned to be built in Rovaniemi, Finland, specifically situated in the popular Santa Claus Village area. According to Moomin World Oy, Rovaniemi stands out as an appealing destination due to its strong tourism status and international recognition. The CEO of Moomin World Oy, Tomi Lohikoski, highlighted that the northern winter season sees increased activity with many international visitors, making this a unique project.

The planned park, which is currently in the conceptual design phase and tentatively named 'Moomin Experience at the Arctic Circle,' will be smaller than the existing Moomin World in Naantali. Lohikoski indicated that as the appeal of Moomins tends to extend more towards adults the further one travels from Finland, this will influence aspects of the park's design. However, the main focus remains on providing guests with engaging interactions with Moomin characters and various interactive activities.

During the summer season, Moomin World Oy also sees potential for attracting Finnish tourists who may find traveling to Naantali too long. The mayor of Rovaniemi has expressed enthusiasm for the project, indicating it will enhance local tourism and provide a new attraction for both domestic visitors and international guests.
