These are the new garbage collection hours in Guayaquil due to the curfew

In Guayaquil, the garbage collection service has adjusted its hours temporarily in response to a curfew, now operating from 07:00 to 20:00.

In response to the ongoing curfew in Guayaquil, which is in effect from 23:00 to 05:00, the city has temporarily modified its garbage collection schedule. The change is part of the municipal operations adjustment to comply with mobility restrictions. As of March 15, the garbage collection and waste transportation services now operate during a new time frame from 07:00 to 20:00.

According to the Directorate of Canton Garbage, Markets and Special Services of the Guayaquil City Hall (Dacmse), the collection routes have been reorganized into different time slots. In certain areas, garbage collection will take place between 06:00 and 14:00, while in other neighborhoods, it will occur from 14:00 to 18:00, depending on operational planning. This adjustment aims to ensure that the collection trucks can complete their routes, unload the waste in the sanitary landfill, and return to their bases before the curfew begins.

This change in schedule reflects the city administration's commitment to maintaining sanitation services while adhering to public safety regulations. It highlights the challenges faced by local authorities in managing essential services during times of restricted movement, ensuring that public health standards are upheld even under curfew conditions.
