The Contest "Strength of the Past - for the Present". Get to Know the Finalists' Works and Choose the Audience's Favorite
A competition showcasing student projects that creatively highlight moments from Lithuania's fight for freedom is taking place, inviting public votes for a favorite work.
The contest "Strength of the Past - for the Present" celebrates Lithuania's history, particularly focusing on the country's struggle for freedom. The event encourages students from various schools to explore and creatively present significant yet perhaps forgotten aspects of Lithuania's liberation struggles, fostering a deeper understanding of national identity and resilience.
Ten projects have been shortlisted by the competition's jury, featuring remarkable narratives from students on topics such as the January Uprising of 1863-1864 and brave individuals like the book smuggler Kazimieras Jonaitis. This initiative serves not only as a platform for showcasing historical knowledge but also as a means for students to engage with and reflect upon their country's heritage, instilling a sense of pride and awareness about Lithuania's past.
Besides judging the works, the public is invited to participate by voting for their favorite project. This interactive element enhances community involvement in celebrating Lithuania's rich history, and the chosen winner will receive a special 'audience favorite' prize, making the contest not just an educational experience, but also a celebratory event honoring Lithuania's journey toward freedom.
