Sallah: FRSC deploys 1,889 personnel in Kano
The Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano has deployed 1,889 personnel for special patrol operations during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), specifically the Kano Sector Command, has announced the deployment of 1,889 personnel for the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr Special Patrol Operations, which will run from March 17 to March 22, 2026. This initiative aims to ensure safe and smooth travel for thousands of pilgrims and travelers during the Sallah celebrations. The FRSC's Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Labaran, emphasized the importance of these operations in maintaining road safety during this busy period.
The deployment comprises 1,348 Regular Marshals and 541 Special Marshals who will be on duty 24 hours a day, covering all 44 Local Government Areas in Kano State. The primary goal of these special patrols is to reduce the risk of road traffic accidents, fatalities, and injuries, while also ensuring a free flow of traffic. The initiative underscores the FRSC's commitment to public safety, especially during major holidays when travel volumes spike significantly.
This operation comes as part of the broader efforts by the FRSC to enhance road safety in Nigeria. With the increasing number of vehicles on the roads during festivities, these patrols are crucial to minimizing accidents and providing assistance to road users. The public can expect heightened surveillance and quick response operations, aimed at making the travel experience safer during the celebrations.
