Two men injured in a fire in Vilnius
A fire in a residential building in Vilnius resulted in injuries to two men, who were hospitalized following the incident.
On March 16, at approximately 10:20 PM, firefighters in Vilnius were called to a residential building on A. Kojelavičiaus Street due to reports of a fire. The fire had erupted in a ground-floor apartment of a semi-wooden-brick building, where open flames were observed. Upon arrival, rescuers found that two rooms in the apartment were completely burnt down.
Before the firefighters arrived, one man had already been rescued from the burning apartment and was handed over to emergency medical services. Another man was also extracted from a different apartment in the building and was taken to the hospital, alongside the first victim. In total, three additional individuals were evacuated from their apartments due to the smoke and water damage from firefighting efforts.
The situation is currently under investigation as local authorities assess the cause of the fire and the damage inflicted on the building. Emergency services emphasized prompt action as crucial in minimizing harm to residents, and they continue to monitor the affected area's safety.
