New VLCC Order from Dynacom
Dynacom Tankers Management has placed an order for four more VLCCs at Hengli Heavy Industry in China, further expanding its shipbuilding program.
Dynacom Tankers Management, led by George Prokopiou, is embarking on a new round of investments in Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), strengthening its already significant shipbuilding program. Recent reports indicate that Dynacom has signed a contract with Hengli Heavy Industry in China for four additional VLCCs, each with a capacity of approximately 300,000 DWT. This marks the second VLCC contract signed by Dynacom with this shipyard this year, following the previous delivery of two vessels, 'Aliakmon I' and 'Pinios', which are scheduled to be delivered in 2025 and February 2026, respectively.
The Hengli shipyard is notable for having the world's largest VLCC order book, with 76 vessels currently under construction. This places it at the forefront of the global shipbuilding industry, showcasing its capacity to meet the growing demand for large crude carriers. Dynacom's latest purchase further cements its status as a leader in the shipping industry, particularly within Greece, where it has established itself as a premier entity in the maritime sector since its establishment in 1991.
Dynacom has also been active in expanding its fleet in recent years, with over 25 newly built vessels scheduled for delivery in 2025 alone. This aggressive growth strategy reflects not just confidence in the maritime market, but also a commitment to enhancing capabilities in a competitive environment, indicating Dynacom's strategic positioning for future challenges and opportunities in the shipping industry.
