Two more VLCCs for Pantheon Tanker

Pantheon Tanker is expanding its fleet by ordering additional Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with a focus on efficiency and greener technology.

Pantheon Tanker, part of the Anna Angelicoussis Group in Greece, is making significant strides in expanding its fleet of tankers. In a recent agreement with China's Hengli Heavy Industry, the company has secured the construction of four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), which will each have a capacity of approximately 306,000 deadweight tons (dwt). This expansion reflects the company's commitment to enhancing its operational capabilities in the competitive shipping market.

In addition to the VLCCs, Pantheon Tanker has also placed an order for two Suezmax vessels, each with a capacity of about 157,000 dwt, from COSCO's shipyards in Yangzhou, China. These vessels are equipped with dual-fuel propulsion systems, demonstrating a strategic shift towards more environmentally friendly and efficient shipping solutions. The emphasis on green technology not only aligns with global sustainability trends but also positions the company favorably in a market that increasingly prioritizes environmental considerations.

The Anna Angelicoussis Group's recent surge in shipbuilding activities is not limited to tankers. Alpha Gas, the group's LNG carrier management arm, has ordered two new LNG carriers in South Korea, while Alpha Bulkers has committed to building 11 feeder containerships across various Chinese shipyards. This comprehensive approach to fleet expansion underscores the group's overall strategy of investing in advanced maritime technologies and enhancing its capacity to meet future shipping demands.
