Lithuanian eighth graders participate in achievement tests
Lithuanian eighth graders are undergoing electronic achievement tests this year, designed according to national curricula and with specific assessment criteria.
In Lithuania, eighth graders are currently participating in nationally organized electronic achievement tests, which are structured to assess their knowledge according to the general educational programs. The tests have been crafted to only include the curriculum content that has been covered by the students up to this grade, ensuring that they are adequately prepared for the evaluations. This year marks a significant shift as the assessments are being conducted simultaneously for all students taking the same subjects, adhering to the guidelines established by the National Student Achievement Assessment for the eighth grade.
The language and literature assessment will consist of both multiple-choice and short-answer questions. Students will be required to demonstrate their comprehension skills by choosing correct answers, linking correct pairs of responses, determining the order of objects, and other interactive tasks, with a total of 40 points available for scoring. This section aims to encompass various aspects of reading, text comprehension, and insights into literature and culture, with the combined texts not exceeding 700 words.
Additionally, the mathematics test will comprise 35 questions, further emphasizing the competency approach in evaluating students' knowledge. These assessments are not only vital in understanding studentsβ levels of achievement but also play a crucial role in informing educators about the effectiveness of the educational curriculum and teaching methodologies being applied in the classroom.
