Relentless Grayness Continues – These Areas Might See the Sun
The cloudy and gray weather persists in Finland with potential breaks of sunshine in the southwestern and southeastern regions.
Finland's weather continues to be dominated by gray, cloudy conditions, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute's duty meteorologist Iiris Idoko. On Tuesday, this drab weather will mainly prevail throughout the country, though there may be glimpses of sunshine in the southwestern part and southeastern Karelia. Idoko notes that while the southeastern regions may experience clearer skies, particularly on the Russian side of the border, if it shifts northwards into Finland, those in southeastern Karelia could enjoy the sun with temperatures potentially reaching eight degrees Celsius.
In the central parts of Finland, light rain and drizzle are expected, with possible snowfall as the precipitation moves eastward. As the day progresses into the evening, the weather is predicted to clear up somewhat, providing some respite from the persistent clouds. Additionally, Lapland is forecasted to experience light snowfall or freezing drizzle, continuing the trend of chilly weather across the northern regions, which contrasts with the relatively warmer southern and central areas.
On Tuesday, daytime temperatures in southern and central Finland are projected to range between three and eight degrees Celsius. In Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu, temperatures will be at a maximum of five degrees Celsius, with many areas hovering below this mark. The ongoing cold and damp weather will likely keep many residents yearning for brighter and sunnier days ahead, highlighting the challenges posed by the long-standing dreary weather conditions that dominate this time of year.
