Change in Weather: Sunny Frosty Weather Gives Way to Rain
Finland will experience sunny frost weather for a couple of days before transitioning to rain starting Thursday night.
In Finland, the weather is expected to stay sunny and frosty for Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures ranging from -5 to -10 degrees Celsius in the south and -10 to -20 degrees in the north. Meteorologist Matti Huutonen from Yle indicates that this pleasant winter holiday weather will continue for a few more days before a significant shift occurs.
By Wednesday evening, a weather system is approaching from the west, but high pressure will keep conditions dry and mostly sunny throughout the day. However, by Thursday night, precipitation is anticipated across Finland, signaling a dramatic change in weather as rain begins to spread over the country and temperatures are expected to rise significantly.
The precipitation will initially bring freezing rain and drizzles in the south, while northern areas will continue to see snowfall. Huutonen states that after a prolonged cold spell, temperatures could rise above zero on Thursday, with the zero degree line potentially moving to the Oulu-Joensuu line by Friday, while still experiencing minor frosts in the eastern and northern regions.
