A 50-year-old man was arrested for drunk driving after colliding with a car carrying tourists in Porto Calvo, Brazil.
On Sunday, October 15, a 50-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence after he crashed into a car carrying a couple of tourists from São Paulo on AL-460 in Porto Calvo, a municipality in Alagoas. The impact resulted in one of the vehicles being left obstructing the roadway, later igniting in flames. The identity of the suspect has not been disclosed.
Reports from TV Asa Branca Alagoas indicate that the driver crossed into the opposite lane while navigating a curve, directly colliding with the tourists' vehicle. Following the accident, the man allegedly attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by bystanders until law enforcement arrived. Both the suspect and the tourists were taken to the Regional Hospital of the North for medical attention, although their conditions have not been released.
The arrested driver was subsequently taken to the Integrated Public Safety Center (CISP) in Matriz de Camaragibe, where he was charged with driving under the influence. This incident raises concerns about road safety and responsible alcohol consumption, especially in areas frequented by tourists, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement of laws related to drunk driving.
