A woman in Caxias, Brazil, was arrested for operating an illegal cockfighting operation, which resulted in the rescue of 12 birds from poor conditions.
A woman has been arrested in Caxias, a city located approximately 364 km from São Luís, Brazil, for allegedly running an illegal cockfighting operation. The arrest was made by the Maranhão Civil Police as part of a search and seizure operation executed early on Thursday, October 12. Police conducted the raid following multiple anonymous tips which pointed to the existence of a clandestine cockfighting ring in the Antenor Viana neighborhood, where they rescued 12 birds that were found in deplorable conditions.
