Meteorologist on the upcoming week's weather: It is usually this warm only by mid-April

Finns can enjoy unusually warm weather for this time of year this week, with temperatures currently 4-5 degrees higher than average for the season.

Finnish citizens are set to experience an exceptionally warm week, with temperatures expected to stay higher than usual for this time of year. According to meteorologist Eveliina Tuovinen from the Finnish Meteorological Institute, temperatures across southern and central parts of the country will be about 4-5 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average. The unusual warmth is indicative of temperatures typically seen only by mid-April, suggesting that Finland is effectively a month ahead in terms of seasonal weather.

Starting with a gray Monday morning where cloud cover is prevalent, the sky will gradually clear throughout the day. In southern and western Finland, temperatures should rise to around 7-8 degrees Celsius. Warmth will permeate even down to the areas of Southern and Central Lapland, while only the northernmost regions will see frosty temperatures. On Tuesday, similar conditions are expected, with temperatures above zero extending even to Northern Lapland, while the south remains consistent with Monday's readings.

Wednesday will mark a shift in the weather pattern, as it is expected to be a windy day, acting as a transitional point for the week's meteorological conditions. The forecast indicates that while the warm temperatures will continue, the increased wind could signal a change as the week progresses, potentially impacting the overall warmth and introducing fluctuations in weather patterns as we move deeper into the week.
