The Weekend Weather Is Like From Another Planet

The weekend weather in Finland will feature unusually warm temperatures for March, with some areas experiencing up to 10 degrees Celsius.

In Finland, the weekend weather is expected to be characterized by a clash of warm and cool air masses, according to meteorological insights from Foreca. The warmest temperatures are predicted for the southern and eastern parts of the country, where sunshine and clear skies may see temperatures rise to between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius, and in some southern regions, it might even surpass 10 degrees. Meanwhile, other areas of Finland will generally see daytime temperatures ranging from 2 to 7 degrees, and slightly cooler conditions are expected in North Lapland on Sunday.

Meteorologist Anna Latvala notes that these temperatures are atypical for this time of year. Traditionally, in northern Finland and North Karelia, daily temperatures at this season are generally around freezing or slightly below, while southern and central parts usually remain just above freezing. The forecasted daytime temperatures more closely resemble those typical of mid-April rather than March, signaling a significant deviation from seasonal norms.

As the frontal boundary traverses Finland, precipitation is expected to spread from the southwest toward Kainuu, Northeastern Finland, and East Lapland. On Saturday, some areas in the northern regions will receive rain, highlighting the diverse weather patterns occurring as the country experiences this unusual warmth alongside intermittent rain.
