A person injured in a sauna fire in Ogre

A fire at a sauna in Ogre resulted in one person being injured, according to the State Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia.

On Saturday, March 14th, a fire broke out in a sauna in Ogre, specifically on Vijolīšu Street, causing injuries to one individual. The State Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia (VUGD) received a call at 20:03 about the incident, where the sauna covered an area of 30 square meters. The injured person was subsequently handed over to emergency medical services for treatment. Firefighting efforts were concluded by 22:00.

Earlier the same day, at around 16:27, VUGD received another call regarding a fire in a third-floor apartment of a five-story residential building on Cēsu Street in Limbaži. An electrical device was reported to be on fire across an area of 0.5 square meters. Firefighters evacuated six individuals from adjacent apartments, including a dog that was rescued from the smoke-filled rooms. The firefighting operation was finished by 17:18.

In Neretas, Aizkraukles municipality, there was another fire in a two-story residential house where household items covering 30 square meters were ablaze. VUGD was alerted at 09:20, and prior to their arrival, three people evacuated the building. Firefighters managed to save four rabbits from the fire, while a cat unfortunately perished in the incident. The firefighting efforts concluded by 10:58.
