Online Notary Exceeds 10 Million Digital Acts

The e-Notariado platform in Brazil has surpassed 10 million digital notarial acts completed online, showcasing significant growth since its launch during the pandemic.

The e-Notariado platform, the official digital environment of Brazilian notaries, has recently surpassed 10 million online notarial acts. This platform allows users to conduct various legal processes such as deeds, powers of attorney, inventories, divorces, and wills remotely. It was launched to facilitate these processes during the Covid-19 pandemic when physical visits to notary offices were severely restricted. Since its launch in 2020, the platform has reported consistent growth, attracting a larger number of users each year.

In December 2025, e-Notariado recorded its highest monthly volume in history, with 112,000 digital acts completed. Currently, the platform boasts the formalization of 2.5 million digital deeds, 650,000 electronic powers of attorney, and 2,000 wills. The continuous increase in the use of this platform suggests that more people are becoming comfortable with digital access to notarial services, significantly transforming the way legal documents are processed in Brazil. This shift to online services not only enhances accessibility but also streamlines operations within the notary office system.

Additional services exclusive to the e-Notariado platform include the Electronic Travel Authorization (AEV) and the Electronic Authorization for Organ Donation (AEDO). The innovative approach adopted by the Brazilian notary offices indicates a broader trend towards digitization and modernization of legal services, with implications for greater efficiency and wider outreach to the public. The sustained growth of these online services reflects changing societal norms, with an increasing reliance on digital solutions in the legal sector, and sets a precedent for how similar services may evolve globally.
