Third edition of the ENAC has published notice; exam is required to apply for notary contests

The ENAC exam, essential for applying to notary posts in Brazil, has had its notice published, detailing registration requirements and exam dates.

The National Notary Exam (ENAC) in Brazil has announced its third edition, with its official notice released recently. This exam is a prerequisite for individuals aiming to enter notary contests across the country. To be eligible for registration, candidates must possess a law degree from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC) or have a minimum of ten years of experience in notarial or registry services. The registration fee is set at R$ 150, with applications open until March 24, and fee exemptions available for specific candidates under financial hardship.

The exam, scheduled for June 14 from 2 PM to 7 PM (Brasília time), will be conducted in all Brazilian state capitals. The details of the content to be covered in the evaluation are outlined in Annex I of the official notice. Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency in various legal and administrative areas essential for notarial work. The examination duration will be a minimum of three hours, and participants are restricted to using only a blue or black pen in a transparent case, along with an official ID.

This initiative underscores the continuing professionalization of the notarial sector in Brazil, aiming to standardize qualifications and ensure that only adequately trained individuals can serve the critical functions of notaries. With examinations like ENAC, the Brazilian government reinforces the importance of formal education and training in legal professions, which could ultimately enhance the efficiency and integrity of notarial services throughout the country.
