New CNH: more than 10,000 Brazilians have already obtained their first driver's license through the government app
Over 10,000 Brazilians have successfully completed the process of obtaining their first driver's license using the CNH Brazil app launched by the Ministry of Transport.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Transport in Brazil announced that 10,289 individuals have successfully completed the process of obtaining their first National Driver's License (CNH) using the newly launched CNH Brazil app. This initiative allows applicants to complete various required steps digitally, including theoretical courses, medical and psychological examinations, and biometrics, culminating in the issuance of the CNH. The new regulations, implemented in January, have significantly streamlined the licensing process, reducing the total cost by around 70% and shortening the time to obtain a license from approximately nine months to just two. This efficiency is expected to encourage more individuals to legally drive and contribute towards road safety in Brazil, as more people can now gain access to the necessary documentation in a timely and cost-effective manner. As the demand for driving licenses continues to grow, the success of the CNH Brazil app may set a precedent for digital transformation within government services in Brazil, potentially leading to further innovations in public service delivery. The Ministry of Transport's initiative reflects a broader trend towards digitizing citizen services that aim to enhance user experience and reduce bureaucratic delays in various government sectors.
