The heat pipe arrives – spring progresses with a bang

Finland is set to experience predominantly warm weather this weekend and into next week, with temperatures reaching as high as ten degrees Celsius in the southern and eastern regions.

Foreca's meteorologist Anna Latvala forecasts warm and sunny weather for Finland this weekend, particularly in the southern and eastern parts of the country. During this period, temperatures are expected to hover around ten degrees Celsius, with some local areas potentially exceeding this mark. In contrast, the rest of Finland will experience temperatures ranging from two to eight degrees Celsius as the wintry conditions begin to ease off.

However, a rain front will disrupt the otherwise pleasant weather in certain areas of southwestern to northeastern Finland. Latvala specifies that the rain will affect a broad region, from Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta through Central Finland and into Kainuu and Koillisma. The rainfall is expected to bring varying intensities, with Saturday already forecasted for rain, while the area impacted will expand on Sunday, maintaining localized variations.

Overall, while some regions of Finland will enjoy sunny and warm days ahead, others will have to contend with the wet weather from the approaching rain front. This mix of weather conditions underscores the transition from winter to spring, conveying the unpredictable nature of Finnish weather during this change in season.
