Enticed by a 5 lakh package, 40-60 thousand... gang of fraudsters targeting unemployed individuals arrested
A gang operating in Greater Noida was arrested for cheating unemployed individuals by promising fake job placements in multinational companies through a fraudulent website.
The police in Greater Noida have uncovered a gang involved in defrauding unemployed individuals by creating fake job offers from multinational companies (MNCs). The arrests occurred on Friday near the Iteda roundabout, where police apprehended three individuals, including the gang's leader. The arrested are identified as Vikas Dabar from Hisar, Arun Kumar from Auraiya, and Vaibhav Kumar from Bulandshahr. Police recovered several incriminating items, including computers, mobile phones, six fake job offer letters from various companies, and ₹7,600 in cash. This gang had been active for the past five months, swindling over ₹10 lakh from more than 20 victims.
After receiving multiple complaints, the Central DCP of Noida highlighted that the police formed a special team to investigate the matter. Victims reported that they were being lured with promises of high salary jobs in reputed MNCs, but once they paid the scammers, they faced difficulties in contacting them. The operation's success underlines the ongoing issue of job fraud targeting the unemployed, demonstrating the need for vigilance among job seekers and the importance of reporting suspicious job offers to law enforcement.
As job vacancies become increasingly competitive, such fraudulent schemes tend to rise, exploiting vulnerable individuals seeking employment. The uncovering of this gang serves as a reminder to both law enforcement and job seekers to be better informed and cautious when navigating the job market, especially concerning unsolicited job offers that seem too good to be true.
