INSS holds medical examination and social assessment drive in seven cities in Pará this weekend

The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) is conducting a medical examination and social assessment drive in seven cities of Pará to expedite the processing of disability and social assistance benefits.

The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) is launching a weekend initiative on March 14 and 15 to address the backlog of medical examinations and social assessments in seven agencies across Pará, Brazil. This event is specifically aimed at individuals waiting for their medical examinations and social evaluations, which are prerequisites for accessing various benefits such as sickness aid, disability retirement, and Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC).

The targeted public includes insured individuals who have been experiencing delays in receiving necessary evaluations that affect their benefit applications. By providing an opportunity for expedited processing, the INSS hopes to alleviate the strain on applicants and improve the overall efficiency of the benefits system. Appointments can be made through the Meu INSS app or the Central 135 hotline, which operates from Monday to Saturday, ensuring accessibility for those in need of evaluations.

In the Metropolitan Region of Belém, the main service units will be at Belém-Marco, Belém-Nazaré, and Castanhal, with 250, 160, and 90 available slots respectively. The importance of this initiative lies in its potential to significantly reduce waiting times for essential evaluations, thus facilitating quicker access to benefits for vulnerable populations who rely on timely assistance from social security programs.
