The high-ranking official corruption investigation agency (Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission) is currently probing the head prosecutor of the special investigation team that managed the inquiry into the Unification Church. This follows claims of bias against the Democratic Party in the ongoing investigation. According to recent reports by Hankyoreh, on January 8, the agency summoned Chae Hee-man, the head of the Pyeongtaek branch of the special investigation team, for questioning regarding the allegations. Chae reportedly stated that the lead investigator Min Jung-ki claimed testimonies concerning former Unification Church head Yoon Young-ho's monetary donations to past and present politicians from the Democratic Party were not within the scope of their investigation.
