A young man in Bihar was arrested for impersonating an officer from the prohibition department and extorting money from liquor traffickers.
In Bihar's Vaishali district, police apprehended a young man who had been masquerading as an official of the prohibition department to collect illegal fees from liquor smugglers. The individual had initially filed a false report about his car being stolen, allowing him to claim millions in insurance payouts. Following this, he affixed a departmental identification board on his vehicle and began using it to intimidate and extort money from local liquor mafias, exploiting his assumed authority to further his criminal activities.
