Fake IAS Arrested in Meerut, Was Intimidating Officers Under the Influence of Alcohol

A fake IAS officer, Rahul Kaushik, was arrested in Meerut for impersonating a high-ranking government official while intoxicated and attempting to intimidate police and other officials.

In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, local police arrested a man named Rahul Kaushik, who was misleading people by claiming to be an IAS officer from the 2008 batch, stating he held the position of Deputy Secretary in the Indian government. The police action took place in the Noachandi area, where Kaushik was reportedly causing a disturbance while under the influence of alcohol, making calls to emergency services and officials to assert his fictional authority.

Kaushik's true identity was revealed when police responded to the chaos he was creating, as he repeatedly contacted the police control room and high-ranking officials with false information. He attempted to demonstrate his influence by making it seem as though he held a significant position, hoping to pressure local law enforcement into submission. The officers found that his claims were baseless and discovered fake identification documents in his possession during the investigation.

As a result of this unnerving incident, police have registered a case against Kaushik and sent him to jail. This case underlines the issue of impersonation and showcases how individuals may exploit their false identities to exert power and fear, putting law enforcement and public safety at risk, especially when alcohol is involved in their misconduct.
