Fernando de Noronha Airport opens new disembarkation area

The new disembarkation area at Fernando de Noronha Airport was opened for public use this week, with full operations expected by May 15.

The recently renovated disembarkation area at Fernando de Noronha Airport in Brazil has been opened to the public, marking a significant upgrade to the airport's facilities. With an investment of R$ 57 million, the upgrade expands the terminal space from 1,000 m² to 3,300 m², enabling a substantial increase in the airport’s capacity to handle passengers, raising the limit from 260,000 to 400,000 per year.

The renovation, executed by Agemar, a subsidiary of Dix Aeroportos that manages the terminal, involves a phased release of areas to ensure that airport operations are not adversely affected. Edgar Amaro Júnior, Agemar's institutional director, highlighted that the work is ongoing while the airport remains operational, indicating a commitment to minimizing disruption to travelers.

As the facility transitions to the renovated disembarkation space, the local community and travelers can anticipate improved services and greater accessibility, which may enhance the overall travel experience to the popular tourist destination of Fernando de Noronha. The completion of the entire operational area is expected by mid-May, promising a more efficient and modern airport for passengers arriving at this picturesque Brazilian locale.
