Modernization of Customs and Safe Paths: Durazo Strengthens Commercial Mobility and Border Security

Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño has launched a modernization project for the San Luis Río Colorado I customs facility, aimed at enhancing commercial mobility and border security in the region.

Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño has inaugurated a significant modernization effort at the San Luis Río Colorado I customs facility, supported by an investment of approximately 400 million pesos. This initiative is designed to aid around 600,000 residents and is expected to transform the state into a commercial logistics hub for northwestern Mexico. The project will not only improve economic activity but also enhance the security and efficiency of border crossings between Mexico and the United States.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, which he conducted alongside Rafael Fernando Marín Mollinedo, the head of Mexico's National Customs Agency (ANAM), Governor Durazo emphasized the importance of this modernization as a means to fortify both mobility and border security. The improvements are aimed at streamlining cross-border transportation and fostering better logistics integration with the southwestern United States. With updated equipment and technology, operations at the customs facility are expected to become much more efficient.

Governor Durazo described this event as a historic milestone, after 25 years of ongoing efforts to realize this modernization.
