The Governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, is leading initiatives to strengthen tourism and local identity along the state's coastline. With the boardwalk construction projects in Huatabampito and Empalme making significant progress—over 70% completion—they aim to transform the Sonoran coast into a tourist-friendly area. The Huatabampito boardwalk, which initially required a substantial investment of 100 million pesos, includes new amenities designed to enhance visitor experiences while providing necessary infrastructure for local residents.
In the construction phase of the Huatabampito boardwalk, several aspects have been successfully completed. This includes the installation of sanitary service modules, deceleration lanes, and essential public facilities, which collectively work to improve the experience for both tourists and locals. Physical progress is noted at about 75% in the completed phases, reflecting the project's commitment to meet community needs while supporting tourism endeavors.
Pending tasks for the project include finishing touches such as tile placements and sidewalk structures, which are crucial for the boardwalk's functionality and aesthetics. These developments not only promise to elevate the tourism scope but also potentially enhance the economic landscape for the coastal communities by creating jobs and attracting more visitors to Sonora’s natural beauty.
