Members of the Association of Waste Management Vendors and Recyclers of Nigeria in Ogun State have expressed their appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the recent appointment of Alhaji Farouk Akintunde as the Managing Director of the Ogun State Waste Management Agency (OGWAMA). They laud this decision, believing that Akintunde possesses both the compassion for the community and the necessary qualifications to effectively tackle the waste management issues faced by the state.

Since Akintunde's appointment, notable changes have already begun to take shape. Pastor Segun Adetula, Secretary of the waste vendors' association, highlighted that under Akintunde’s leadership, there has been a marked improvement in waste management operations, including the successful clearing of refuse that had previously accumulated on major streets throughout Ogun State. This swift action has been welcomed by the community and indicates a promising start to Akintunde's tenure.

The association's executives have proactively engaged with Akintunde to discuss the challenges faced by waste vendors in the region, which shows a collaborative approach intended to enhance the overall waste management framework in Ogun State.
