Seoul Metropolitan University Holds 'Student Meal with Chef Lee Won-il' Event to Celebrate Cafeteria Renovation

Seoul Metropolitan University celebrated the renovation of its student cafeteria by hosting a special meal event featuring renowned chef Lee Won-il.

Seoul Metropolitan University (President Won Yong-gul) recently celebrated the renovation of its student cafeteria with a special event titled 'Student Meal with Chef Lee Won-il' on March 11. The event, which invited the famous chef to prepare a unique dish for students, marked the reopening of the cafeteria that had been modernized during the winter break. The university has transformed the cafeteria into a space not just for meals but also for communication and relaxation among students.

During the event, Chef Lee Won-il presented his specially crafted recipe of 'Spicy Bulgogi Onion Rice Bowl,' which utilizes pork, onions, eggs, and Zuran sauce, tailored to appeal to the tastes of university students. He personally served the meal from 11 a.m., shared encouraging messages with students, and actively participated in taking photos with them. Chef Lee also engaged with students during their meal, gathering feedback on the dishes and fostering a sense of community within the cafeteria.

Student participant Park Ji-hye, a senior in the Social Welfare Department, expressed her excitement about eating a meal prepared by Chef Lee, whom she usually sees only on television. She noted the significant aesthetic improvements to the cafeteria, likening it to a café and expressing her intent to visit frequently with friends. University President Won Yong-gul stated that the event was designed to provide joy to students in the newly renovated cafeteria and asserted the university's commitment to enhancing student welfare through expanded meal programs and diversified menus in the future.
