Ecovias Rio Minas has started the duplication works on a stretch of BR-116 in Governador Valadares, with an investment of R$ 309 million over approximately 9 kilometers.
Ecovias Rio Minas has commenced the duplication of approximately 9 kilometers of the BR-116 highway in Governador Valadares, located in the eastern region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This significant infrastructure project represents an investment of R$ 309 million, with the aim of enhancing the road's capacity and improving traffic flow in the area. The construction is expected to span from kilometer 421 to kilometer 414, targeting a crucial section near the access routes to the municipalities of Tumiritinga and Capitão Andrade.
The initial phase of the project consists of preliminary work, which includes soil removal and other foundational preparations. According to Thiago Ramiro, the construction coordinator for Ecovias, these preliminary activities are essential before moving on to the main construction tasks. The duplication aims to alleviate congestion, particularly in the Vila Isa neighborhood, an area known for heavy traffic during peak hours.
This infrastructure investment is significant for the local economy, as enhanced road capacity can facilitate better transport and logistics in the region. The expectation is that as the project progresses, it will contribute to improved safety and efficiency for the thousands of vehicles that use this highway daily, thereby supporting regional development in the process.
